Product description

Take up arms and smite the forces of evil!

Like its DND counterpart, the Paladin Drive is the rock of every party, ready to be on the front lines of any on-stage battle.

From virtuous protector to oathbreaker, the Paladin can do it all - light edge-of-breakup overdrive to crunchy distortion.

The Paladin is a unique overdrive/distortion pedal based on a hidden gem of the 1980s - the Yamaha OD-10MII - with a few more tricks up its sleeve.

Thanks to the clipping selector switch, which toggles between the “stock” silicon diode clipping and germanium clipping, the Paladin is a great medium gain drive/low gain distortion pedal with plenty of headroom and gain on tap for running through clean or dirty amps. Unlike other 1980s Japanese overdrive circuits - *cough* *cough* Tube Screamer - the Paladin’s EQ is relatively flat (transparent if you will).

FEATURES

TWO DISTINCT CLIPPING FLAVORS

  • Si: Symmetrical silicon clipping - smoother and less compressed

  • Ge: Asymmetrical germanium clipping - more compressed and natural sounding

TRANSPARENT EQ

Thanks to a modified Big Muff-style active tone control, the Paladin offers a flatter more natural EQ than something like a Tube Screamer or Klon, resulting in a tone that is much closer to the natural sound of your guitar and amp.
