The Pete Thorn Standard HSS is the latest evolution in the collaboration between legendary guitarist Pete Thorn and master luthier John Suhr. Designed to be the ultimate workhorse for the working musician, this instrument blends vintage inspiration with modern precision, delivering a guitar that is as stunning to look at as it is to play.

At the heart of this "versatile tone machine" is the all-new Thornbucker II bridge pickup. Born from a desire for a sound that is warm, clear, and "ballsy," it pairs perfectly with the Suhr V63 single-coils in the neck and middle positions. Whether you need sparkling cleans or searing high-gain leads, the HSS configuration—backed by Suhr’s SSCII (Silent Single Coil) system—ensures you get iconic strat-style tones without the 60-cycle hum.

Playability is paramount in the Pete Thorn Standard. The neck features a custom Pete Thorn 60’s Soft V profile (.830"–.910"), carved from roasted maple and topped with an ebony fingerboard. Pete describes this shape as a "blend of my favorite vintage '64 and my favorite Suhr Classic S necks," offering a comfortable, broken-in feel right out of the case. The 10"-14" compound radius and jumbo stainless steel frets allow for effortless bending and smooth articulation across the entire fretboard.

Aesthetically, the guitar balances classic curves with fresh details. It introduces a new "Standard Hybrid" pickguard design in Black Pearl that flows elegantly with the Alder body. Equipped with a Wilkinson WVS-130 locking bridge and Suhr locking tuners, this guitar promises rock-solid tuning stability, even during the most aggressive whammy bar use.
