2002–2003 Gibson SG Special Faded “Crescent Moon” – Worn Brown, Ebony Fingerboard, Bigsby w/ Hardshell Case

An especially cool variation on Gibson's stripped-down SG Special Faded, this early-production example comes from the brief period when Gibson fitted these guitars with an ebony fingerboard and distinctive crescent-moon inlays. That combination disappeared early in the model's production and has made the 2002–2003 Crescent Moon guitars particularly sought after among SG players.

Built in the USA around a resonant mahogany SG body and mahogany neck, the guitar has the thin Worn Brown Faded finish that leaves the grain visible and gives these early Specials their played-in, no-frills character. The ebony fingerboard provides a noticeably different look and feel from the later rosewood-board SG Faded models.

This example has been fitted with a Bigsby vibrato, giving the guitar another useful dimension for chord shimmer and subtle pitch movement. Two humbuckers feed the familiar SG four-knob control layout with independent volume and tone controls and a three-way pickup selector.

The guitar shows normal cosmetic evidence of use, including scratching on the pickguard and wear consistent with the intentionally thin Faded finish. No major structural defect is apparent in the supplied photographs. Includes the pictured fitted hardshell case.
