This cutaway dreadnought pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with laminated African mahogany back and sides. The octave strings give picked passages a ringing, doubled melody, while the dreadnought body gives open chords a full low end. Cream binding frames the natural gloss top, and the cutaway makes it easier to reach beyond the 14th fret. Alvarez Guitars
The mahogany neck has a 25½-inch scale and a 1⅞-inch nut that gives the six string pairs room across the fingerboard. For amplified use, the onboard L.R. Baggs StagePro Element system puts volume, three-band EQ, a tuner, a notch filter, and a phase switch within reach. Includes the cream-and-brown Alvarez hardshell case shown.
