The
Boss CS-3
delivers robust dynamic balancing and extended note decay. It provides a four-control interface capable of producing everything from a transparent studio-level squeeze to an aggressive, heavy-handed snap.
Key Features & Capabilities
The Four-Knob Control Matrix: Unlike primitive two-knob compressors, the CS-3 gives you fine-grain control over how the compression envelope grabs your notes:
Level: Controls the overall output volume, giving you plenty of gain to function as a clean solo boost.
Tone: Acts as a high-frequency filter to inject brightness back into the signal or mellow out harsh picking artifacts.
Attack: Sets how fast the compressor reacts to your initial pick strike. Setting it slower lets the natural snap of your note pass through before the squish takes over, which is perfect for percussive country chickin' pickin' or funk strumming.
Sustain: Dictates how long the circuit holds onto the decaying tail of a note, artificially extending your instrument's natural sustain.
