Used Digitech Whammy

The DigiTech Whammy is one of the most famous and recognizable guitar effects pedals ever made. Instantly identifiable by its bright red metal chassis and large expression treadle, it is a digital pitch-shifting pedal that allows guitarists to manipulate the pitch of their instrument in real-time.

Unlike a standard mechanical tremolo arm (or "whammy bar") on a guitar, which physically alters string tension, the DigiTech Whammy uses digital processing to bend notes. Rocking the foot pedal forward or backward smoothly slides the pitch up or down across wide intervals.

Core Modes & Settings

The interface is split into three primary processing modes, selectable via a rotary knob:

• Whammy: Bends the entire input signal up or down by a specific interval. Settings range from subtle intervals (like a 2nd or 5th) up to extreme 1 or 2 octaves up/down. It also features a "Dive Bomb" setting for replicating extreme slack-string drops.
• Harmony: Adds a fixed backing harmony note to your dry guitar signal. Moving the treadle shifts the interval of the harmony note dynamically while you play.
• Detune: Generates a slightly pitch-shifted copy of the signal to blend with the original, creating a lush, chorus-like doubling effect without the typical modulation sweep.
