The Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass is a popular and distinctive semi-hollowbody electric bass guitar, designed in collaboration with the legendary bassist of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. It's known for its unique tone, vintage aesthetics, and versatile electronics.
Semi-Hollowbody: The bass has a layered maple body with a semi-hollow construction, including "F" holes, which gives it a warm, resonant, and acoustic-like tone.
It features a set mahogany neck with a "C" profile and an Indian Laurel or Rosewood fingerboard. It has a 34" scale length and 20 medium jumbo frets.
The most notable feature is the single, specially designed JCB-1 Low-Impedance Humbucker pickup. This pickup, created in collaboration with Jack Casady, is designed to capture a full, articulate tone with excellent clarity and definition.
The bass has a unique 3-way rotary impedance selector switch, often called the VariTone control. This switch allows you to change the impedance of the pickup, offering a range of distinct tonal options
