- Body: It features a mid-sized auditorium-shaped body with a cutaway for easier access to upper frets. It has a solid spruce top with laminated sapele (or mahogany, depending on the specific model) back and sides and scalloped "X"-bracing for resonance.
- Neck: A key selling point is the slim "C"-shaped Jazz Bass neck profile and a comfortable short 30-inch scale length (older models were 34" long scale). The neck material is nato (or mahogany) and the fingerboard is walnut with pearloid block inlays.
- Electronics: The bass is equipped with a Fishman® Presys Plus preamp system that includes volume, a 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble), as well as Notch, Brilliance, and Phase controls to fine-tune the amplified sound and help combat feedback. It also has a built-in electronic tuner.
- Hardware: It features a GraphTech® NuBone™ nut and saddle, a modern Viking bridge, and open-gear vintage-style tuning machines
