This is a "Made in Mexico" (MIM) model that replaced the older "Standard" series. It is widely considered the best value-for-money workhorse in Fender's lineup, upgraded with better pickups and 22 frets.
- Finish: Blue Burst (Transparent blue fading to darker edges, showing the flame maple wood grain underneath).
- Body: Alder body with a Flame Maple Veneer top (this is the key difference from the regular Player Tele).
- Neck: Maple neck with a "Modern C" profile and satin finish on the back (very smooth/fast).
- Fretboard: Maple fingerboard with 22 Medium Jumbo frets and a 9.5" radius.
- Pickups: Two Player Series Alnico 5 Single-Coil Tele pickups. These are crisp, articulate, and have more "bite" than the older ceramic pickups found in previous Mexican standards.
will need a new truss rod. great guitar for someone wanting to either replace the rod or get a new neck. rest of the guitar is great!
