The
Lakland Skyline 44-64 Custom PJ
is a vintage-inspired 4-string bass designed to capture the classic thump of an early '60s P-style bass while introducing modern refinements. Built overseas and finished in Lakland’s US facility, it features premium hardware and impeccable fretwork.
Body & Neck Construction: It utilizes a contoured ash body paired with a rock solid, flat-sawn rock maple neck. The standard Custom model includes a bound fingerboard with eye-catching pearly block inlays and a matching painted headstock.
Slimmer Tapered Neck Profile: Instead of the wide, chunky feel found on traditional vintage P-basses, the 44-64 Custom features a slim 1.5" J-style neck taper at the nut. This makes it incredibly fast, smooth, and comfortable for players who prefer a narrower grip.
Dual Access Bridge: The heavy-duty Lakland Dual Access bridge offers great versatile setup options, allowing you to choose between top-loading the strings or stringing them through the body for added sustain and resonance.
The bass is loaded with a highly versatile PJ pickup configuration. It features a Lakland hybrid split-coil pickup in the middle position for deep, punchy low-end thump, paired with a Lakland Vintage J single-coil at the bridge for aggressive midrange growl and bite. The controls are simple and intuitive, offering independent volume pots for each pickup and a master tone control to dial in your exact blend.
