Used Land Devices HP-2

The HP-2 is a premium harmonic percolator-style fuzz. Based out of California, Land Devices took one of the most eccentric, vintage underground circuits from the 1970s—the Interfax Harmonic Percolator—and perfected its stability, noise floor, and dynamics for modern pedalboards.

Most traditional fuzz pedals (like a Fuzz Face or Big Muff) generate clipping that emphasizes odd-order harmonics. Odd harmonics sound aggressive, metallic, and distinctly unnatural.

The HP-2's circuit uses a unique combination of a germanium transistor and a silicon transistor working together. This design generates predominantly even-order harmonics. Even-order harmonics are highly musical, pleasing to the ear, and naturally reinforce the fundamental notes you are playing.
