The NUX '63 Diamond (part of the Reissue Series) is an analog overdrive and preamp pedal designed to capture the quintessential "British Invasion" tones of a 1963 Vox AC30. The "Vox-in-a-Box" Circuit
The pedal uses a multi-stage analog circuit to mimic the behavior of a vacuum tube preamp. It is designed to be touch-sensitive, cleaning up when you play lightly and breaking into a harmonic crunch when you dig in.
- Volume & Master Interaction: Just like the original amplifier, these two controls work together. You can crank the Volume to saturate the "preamp" for thick distortion while keeping the Master low for bedroom levels, or run the Volume low for clean, jangly tones.
- The "Cut" Control: This is a faithful recreation of the AC30's unique EQ. It acts as a low-pass filter at the end of the power section, allowing you to "cut" the high-end frequencies to warm up the tone or open it up for maximum "chime."
- Top Boost Toggle: This switch engages a high-frequency boost, emulating the famous Top Boost channel added to Vox amps in the early 60s. It provides the signature "shimmer" and extra gain needed for classic lead sounds.
