• The "Super Shallow" Bowl: Like all modern Ovations, it replaces traditional wood back and sides with a composite Lyrachord® roundback body. The CS28 features the Super Shallow depth contour, which makes it exceptionally comfortable to hold, sitting close to the body. This shallow profile makes it highly resistant to stage feedback, though it does sacrifice some of the unplugged low-end warmth found in mid- or deep-bowl models.
• Solid Spruce Top: It features a solid Sitka spruce top paired with quartersawn scalloped "X" bracing. This choice of wood and bracing helps punch up the acoustic projection, note clarity, and dynamic response, counterbalancing the synthetic shell.
• Aesthetics: The transparent ruby red finish lets the wood grain of the spruce top peek through. It is accented by a center soundhole with an inlaid pearloid rosette and clean ivory ABS body binding.
