Used Snake Oil Marvelous Engine

The Snake Oil Fine Instruments: Marvellous Engine is the high-gain sibling to "The Very Thing." While the latter is a boost/overdrive, the Marvellous Engine is a full-blown analogue distortion pedal inspired by classic, high-gain British tube amplifiers.

It shares the same Victorian "steampunk" aesthetic with an etched metal housing, but adds a fourth control knob for significantly more tonal flexibility.

The "Voice" Control

The defining feature of the Marvellous Engine is the Voice knob.

• Unlike a standard EQ, this knob engages a second clipping stage.
• As you turn it up, it adds more "bite," saturation, and compression.
• This allows you to transition from a crunchy, plexi-style break-up to a thick, searing lead tone that mimics a hot-rodded stack.
