Used Ten Years Is a Decade Pink

The Ten Years "Is a Decade" is a specialized overdrive/preamp pedal built as a painstaking, component-for-component clone of the preamp section of the legendary Peavey Decade guitar amplifier.

It was brought to life through a collaboration between the band Ten Years (and maker Eli Jarra) to capture the exact signature gain tone used prominently by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss) on countless studio recordings.

Core Architecture & Concept

• Solid-State Preamp Emulation: Rather than mimicking a tube amp, it reproduces the cheap, late-70s/80s Peavey solid-state circuitry—specifically its unique transistor overdrive profile and active EQ circuit.
• The "Josh Homme Sound": The Peavey Decade became infamous in stoner rock/desert rock lore for producing a tight, mid-heavy, boxy, and extremely aggressive "small-speaker" tone when pushed hard into recording consoles or power amps. The Ten Years pedal puts that exact response into a standard pedalboard enclosure.
• Op-Amp & Transistor Drive: Features the specific integrated circuits and gain stages of the original amplifier, running internal charge-pumps to match the original circuit voltages.
