Rather than trying to cram hundreds of generic algorithms into one box, the Starlight focuses intensely on perfectly replicating three definitive delay eras with absolute microscopic detail, capturing the hardware quirks, component age, and preamps of the original units.

Three Core Delay Engines (The Flavors)

The main toggle switch lets you jump between three completely distinct delay typologies:

• Tape EP-III: A stunningly accurate recreation of a vintage 1970s Maestro Echoplex EP-3 tape delay. UA didn't just model the echo; they captured the full mechanical behavior of the tape path and, crucially, the character of the EP-3's legendary solid-state preamp, which adds a beautiful punch and harmonic grit to your signal even when the delay mix is rolled off.
• Analog DMM: A deep component-level emulation of the late-70s Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man bucket-brigade delay. It captures the exact character of the original MN3005 chips, giving you those dark, brooding, naturally degrading repeats paired with lush, liquid pitch modulation.
• Precision: A crystalline, pristine studio digital delay. It offers perfectly transparent echoes with a wealth of deep modulation options, taking full advantage of UA's heritage in rackmount studio processors.
• Bonus Effect (Unlocked via App Registration): Cooper Time Cube, a quirky, mechanical garden-hose delay line originally designed in the late '60s by Duane H. Cooper and Bill Putnam.

The Controls & Tweaks

The Starlight’s six knobs shift their behavior slightly depending on which engine you select, allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of vintage wear:

• Delay, Feedback, & Mix: Standard controls for speed, repeat count, and effect levels.
• Color: Modifies the character of the repeats. On Tape EP-III, it controls record level and tape distortion. On Analog DMM, it adjusts the preamp drive. On Precision, it acts as an active EQ filter.
• Mod: Controls the speed of the LFO modulation.
• Division: Sets the tap-tempo subdivisions (quarter notes, dotted eighths, eighths, triplets).
