Crafted as part of Taylor’s exclusive Gold Label collection, the 717e SB Grand Pacific is a rare and refined expression of American acoustic tone. Built in the USA, this limited-run model features a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top paired with Indian rosewood back and sides, delivering a warm, seasoned tone with lush overtones and clear low-end power. The round-shoulder dreadnought shape offers a vintage-inspired voice—dry, focused, and ideal for strummers, flatpickers, and singer-songwriters alike.
Finished in a striking Sunburst top and accented with elegant Gold Label appointments, this guitar blends high-end craftsmanship with understated visual beauty.
Based on their Grand Pacific platform, these models embrace all of what makes the Gold Label collection different from their other offerings – Torrefied Sitka spruce tops on fully glossed bodies with fanned V-Class Bracing, Honduran Rosewood bridges, LR Baggs electronics, the new and easily adjustable Action Control Neck, unique headstock crown and logo, hardshell cases with two-tone ‘british cocoa’ tolex, and a more traditional sound overall. As I like to say, the Gold Label collection models are the guitars Taylor would have made if we were around in the 1930’s and 40’s.
One BIG difference is the DEPTH of these vs the standard GP models. The Gold Label versions are DEEP BODIED, being a full 5” deep at the soundhole! The extra ‘lung capacity’ given by this expanded depth results in more low-end as well as greater volume and projection overall while still having musical clarity and comfort when being played – these are fantastic instruments!
